Brand
Canon launched EOS in March 1987 with the EOS 650 and the all-electronic EF mount, and every Canon DSLR here still takes those lenses. Its first in-house digital SLR, the APS-C EOS D30, came in 2000, and EF-S lenses for smaller sensors followed in 2003. The 5D Mark II brought 1080p video to a full-frame DSLR in 2008 and pulled filmmakers onto stills cameras. In September 2018 Canon introduced the RF mount for full-frame mirrorless, released its last DSLR in 2020 and has said it won't make new ones. That leaves a deep used market of EF bodies and lenses, plus RF bodies like the R5 and R6 that take EF glass on Canon's adapters.
