About

We help people buy a used digital camera without getting burned. Name the body you’re after, like a Nikon D750, a Canon 5D Mark IV, a Sony A7 III or a Fujifilm X-T4, and there’s a page for it. Each one tells you the camera’s story, what the maker rates its shutter for, how to read the shutter count on that body, its known faults, and what to check in a listing before you buy.

A used body’s wear hides in places a listing rarely shows. The shutter count sits inside the camera or the files it writes, the maker’s service advisories live on support pages, and a grey import looks the same as a US one in a photo. So we keep 36 camera pages in one place, write down the tells that usually take a few bad buys to learn, and pick the listings we’d buy.

We don’t sell cameras. No affiliate links. We earn nothing. We run no analytics and set no tracking cookies. We’re not affiliated with any maker we cover or anyone who owns those names today. See how we work for how the pages are researched and our disclosure for how links, picks and photos work.

Shutter Count is part of allbutnew, a set of shops for secondhand gear. Got a camera body to sell? The “Get an offer” link on every camera page sends it to our camera expert, who replies by email.
